Linen sewing

Updated: Apr 25, 2019

I have made Simplicity pattern 8640 in a linen look. The pattern is pretty true to size. I twin needled the seams and pocket just in white to emphasize them.

I made it in a jersey, I took it down a size and left the join at the front out just using the back pattern piece for front and back cutting the neck down lower.

Cute jumpsuit done for my grandaughter I used gutermann upholstery thread for topstich and some of the selvage for the top of the pockets. I did run out of thread rrr so I kept what I had left of the upholstery thread in the bobbin but used 2 lots of rasant thread on the top and just threaded both through the size 12 needle ok, looks just as thick!

Happy Sewing 😀
